Birth control methods were invented with the aim of controlling population growth. The techniques come with other benefits including giving families the opportunity to decide on when they are going to get offspring. It also enables individuals to space their children according to their preferences. Half of the ladies who choose permanent techniques may later in life opt for a sterilization reversal process.

There are several types of family planning methods some are permanent like sterilization while others are temporary such as hormonal injections and pills. Women are advised to consult their caregivers for assistance before they decide on which technique to use. This is because each person will react to the particular form of contraception depending on their body type. Clients who choose tube ligation should know that some methods are fixable other are unchangeable.

The reversal procedure is expensive and it is performed by few hospitals. The procedure takes time and it involves surgery. The health practitioners first observe the patient using particular types of cameras to determine the level of birth canal damage. After the surgeons has confirmed that a client has healthy fallopian tubes they then go ahead and perform the surgery. The procedure takes few hours and involves use of common anesthesia.

There are two types of surgery. The first procedure involves opening a small hole in the abdomen and using cameras in fixing the problem. The other process involves opening the abdomen and removing the fallopian tube. The physician then re-attaches the broken parts or removes the blockage in the birth canal then after fixing it is then returned to the body.

Other reconnection can be done outside the body. The doctor removes the fallopian tube and connects it outside the body. Recovery after surgery usually takes three weeks. While reconnection carried outside the body take two weeks to achieve full recovery, during this period the patient may experience mild pain in the abdomen. Caregivers can prescribe painkillers or a client can buy them at the drug stores.

After surgery patients are given some guidelines to follow, an individual is advised to observe these guidelines for three weeks. A client is required to avoid caring out heavy duties, eat health food, avoid rubbing when they feel itchy but instead pat the opening. During this period women are advised not to be involved in sexual activities. The physician can give client drugs for reliving pain.

Recovery after operations often takes less than a month. Reconnections done outside the body tend to heal quickly compared to those done inside the body. However, the time taken to attain full recovery is determined by several factors including how an individual takes care of the wound. The process of healing is considered smooth. The medics may give painkillers, or patients can acquire them at the drug stores if they encounter mild pain.

After the surgery clients are advised to take time resting as taking part in doing heavy duties may result in the wound opening hence slowing recovery rate. Other persons may experience bleeding, or they can get infections. Patients are asked to visit when they encounter any form of complication for treatment. The process can also cause ectopic pregnancy. Hence if a client gets pregnant, they should have constant visits to the doctor for a checkup.
