Tips For Christian Military Moms And Parenting

Parenting is not such an easy thing as people who do not have children take it to be. It is even more difficult for parents whose jobs take them away from their children for a long time. Christian military moms and parenting is one subject of importance as it tries to relate how a godly parent can raise her children in God's ways even if she is not always there with them.

As a matter of fact, training up children effectively does not depend on the number of hours you always have with them. It actually depends on what you have to teach them whenever you are around. Parents who want to train up their children in the ways of God should be tactful and result oriented. They should not miss any opportunity they see to teach their children a godly principle.

Try to spend more time with them in church. If this means robbing them of the time you should spend in a restaurant, please do so. The two are good ways to draw closer to your children and impress them but what should be of more importance to Christian moms is making sure that their kids are born again. Taking them to church for midweek services as well as Sunday services will make them not to forget God.

The gifts you buy for them should also reflect the kind of life you want them to live. Buy them good Bibles and books written by some servants of God who you trust can present the word in its pure form. If you do this on your way from your military post frequently, a time will come when they will eagerly expect them on your way back home.

Instruct them on how to pray to God. This will be easier if you show them examples in morning and evening devotions. After leading on some days, you will then assign roles to the children. You can tell someone to lead in choruses on a particular day and another to read the Bible and explain the passage read.

This can be a continuous practice whether you are around or not if you take time to prepare a roster for them. The roster should have the names of your children and the activities they should do in the devotion. Let the plan cover one week so that each person knows what to do on a particular day. Ask them to take notes of the Bible passage they read as well as the contributions made by each person. With this, you will be able to monitor their spiritual growth.

Lead them by example anytime you are around. Teach them to say the truth at all times and never for once tell a lie even when you are in a difficult situation because that will ruin all your efforts. Being kind to others will also send the message to them much more than when you only read bible passages.

In addition, know the kind of company they keep. For this reason, you may have to take them to a church school where they can meet other godly people. Such a school will reinforce the good work you have started with them at home.
