Kenyan Kids Still Suffering Violent Situations Today

The government of Kenya says it is committed to ensuring protection for Kenyan kids from all types of violence. However, it has become quite difficult to put the words in action. If you walk in major cities of this nation, like Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa and Eldoret, you will observe that children are still undergoing physical and emotional violence.

While it may be true that the country has established mechanism to help with the protection of children, what they have done is just a fraction of the task. There is still a need to enhance the implementations of the set mechanism to ensure effective control and prevention of all forms of violence against children. This is necessary and not a subject for debate.

In the same line of sexual issues, partners, boyfriends, romantic lovers and girlfriends were discovered as major perpetrators of sexual violence. This group is most followed by some violent neighbors and inhuman parents full of sexual minds and lack of sympathy for children. Most children who experienced sexual assaults in their lives report that those who subjected them to the act were ten or more years older than them.

The reason for the design of Violence against Children Studies (VACs) was to give birth to a lifetime and current experience of sexual, emotional and physical violation for both male and female children. The research clearly indicated that violence, whether sexual, physical or emotional, is among the major problems facing the country. A good example is that 32% females and 18% male children have actually suffered from terrible sexual assaults.

Many kids have experienced an overlap of sexual assaults, physical and emotional torture. Such violence results to more dangers such as anxiety and the fear that nothing about life seem good and in that sense, a child grows not knowing the existence of good people. Each young male or female in the country go through either one or all forms of challenges mentioned herein.

Experiencing violence by caregivers, parents and other people has subjected children under certain emotional torture. These have resulted to behavioral problems in both adolescence and adulthood. If Kenya is not going to take charge and control this situation, then it should be ready to observe some strange results among the children in this very state.

It looks like Kenya is a state where a strong society is yet to exist. The government has to work around the clock to create a society where men, women and children not only have but also enjoy equal rights, quality of life and opportunities that rise on a daily basis. This, however, will never be realized, unless the Kenyan people themselves understand the wisdom of their ancestors that the children are the hope for the future.

The government cannot ensure creation of a perfect living environment for Kenyan kids on its own; it needs your help as a loyal member to a society and a patriot to its nation. There is a need to transform the foundations of violence and create a nation where every child enjoys protection without any excuse. If making Kenyans revert back to peace after the inferno that enveloped the land during post election violence was that easy, child protection should be the easiest thing.
