Many Christians wonder whether or not there will eventually be a Muslim Antichrist. The traditional viewpoint within the majority of Christian churches is that this person will be of Roman or European descent. In all probability, this philosophy is based on a statement in one of the books of the Bible, Daniel, which calls this person a descendent of the people who destroyed the Temple. The latter proved to be Romans, who were recorded in the Bible as having destroyed the Temple in 70 A. D.

Bible scholars also hold conflicting opinions regarding whether or not this individual will claim to be a Jew or Christian. Some believe that the Antichrist will be Jewish, based on scriptures in John's Gospel. Some people believe that in order to effectively deceive the Jewish race, this person must either be a Jew himself, or masquerade as someone of Jewish descent.

Others have formed philosophies based on scriptures that seem to indicate the Anti-Christ may be a non-Jewish person. For instance, in the Bible book of Revelation, this figure is pictured as a beast rising "from the sea." When the latter phrase is used in other areas of the Bible, it refers to "Gentile nations."

Yet another argument is that this individual will be a Muslim. This is the current and the most popular philosophy among most Christians. It may have caught on because of the recent and obvious renewal of the Muslims' goal to conquer all the nations of the world in the name of their god Allah.

Several books have been written on this topic by those who are knowledgeable concerning eschatology. In one book, a biblical foundation is laid asserting that this individual will indeed be a Muslim. Several other books allude to this fact without actually coming out and saying that this is the case.

Due to the fact that the Bible also gives reference to a false prophet who works with the Antichrist, some individuals believe that one will be a Muslim, while the other will be Jewish. Still other people believe that both individuals will be of Roman or European descent, as mentioned above.

There are many conflicting opinions about this topic, and therefore numerous Christians have completed their own research on the subject. Of course, not everyone has come to the same conclusion concerning whether or not the Antichrist will be a Muslim. However, anyone who has completed such research has likely found that a study project of this type is both rewarding and interesting.

It remains to be seen if there will indeed be a Muslim Antichrist. Even though opinions conflict in the church world concerning the race of this individual, virtually all Christians believe that we are now in the end times. This is why those who have embraced Christianity must watch and wait, and listen for God's voice regarding which public figures are trustworthy and which have evil agendas. Due to the fact that nobody knows precisely when the Antichrist will make his first appearance, Christians are wise to take up this matter in prayer.
