When you reach the twilight of your life, there is nothing better than becoming a grandparent. This will probably be the last task you will undertake before your time comes. But your greatest consolation lies in the fulfillment of your task as well. Not only that. The mere sight of the little angel born out of your child is already a trophy.
This role is paramount because it caters to something that will build a childs character. Well surely, the parents take this task firstly. But grandparents will have to help significantly. And this is the reason why the Catholic Grandparents Association came into being. This is quite new to the ears but it has a vast significance.
Just like when adults became parents, their joy in having a child is incomparable. But at least that sentiment is not exclusive. It is because grannies too are as happy and excited as the parents are that they almost assume the baby as theirs. Well that is always the case and the explanation goes like this.
So that is how the parents love for their kids becomes unrivalled. But then days will come when these kids would grow up and live their own lives. With that, they will get married and establish another unit which will be an extension of the family. And since this unit is fused to the life of their child, then they consider it the same for them.
That is how grannies feel for their granddaughters and grandsons. Given the fact that they are a product of their own kids, they loved them like their own. But sometimes, grannies become very fond of their grandchildren that they tend to spoil them. This is one reason why the association for Catholic grandparents existed.
Bringing up a child requires effort and much consideration. That is why it is needed that grannies help in the procedure. It is perhaps the best legacy which they could grant their grandchildren. And when they finally see the fruit of their effort, they would be fulfilled and happy beyond compare.
So in this organization, the people have a common goal and that is the belief in the vocation of grannies. This was started by a loving grandmother to her grandchildren who is Catherine Wiley. According to her, it is the vocation, duty, as well as responsibility of grandparents to do whatever they can to help educate their grandsons and granddaughters.
And the most loved granny of all catholics who is none other than the pope also supported the movement by saying in one of his homilies that he had come to love his grandmother so much because she had molded him in this faith. This remark had the grannies all over the world conscious of their role which was so often disregarded.
While the association did what they can to extend their apostolate far and wide so that all the grandparents in the world who wish to partake in this important role would be taught how and also be encouraged to engage in their mission work for Christ with utmost inspiration.
