Once the date of your wedding has been set, what is left is sending invitation to friends. You need to be tactful because friends are not idle waiting for your invitation. They have other events and invitations to honor. You therefore need unique save the dates items that will capture their imagination and keep the dates on their minds. It is also a way of personalizing the invitation such that it has more impact.

Choose a uniquely shaped card. Shapes have a way of creating a lasting impression in the mind. Keep away from ordinary rectangular shapes and create a distinct card for your day. Make it easier to pin or place at a conspicuous place by including a hook, base or hanging thread. Make it as distinct as possible such that it stands out among other invitation cards.

Include a caricature on your card. Use a real picture to draw the couple in an inimitable mood. It makes your invitation different and memorable. You may add an ornament like a flower or let the couple engage in a dance. Use the theme of your wedding in the background and include words that are in line with your images. Do not stuff the drawing with a lot of unnecessary images that it appears like a joke.

How would a photograph poster appear? There are photos that send a clear message of your intention without having to add words. Look for a vintage wedding photo or one with the bride and groom in a classic car and include it on your card. This is a distinct approach and differs from ordinary clip arts and words. Professionally emboss or assimilate the photo into a meaningful invitation.

Include a detachable sticker on the card. Stickers are used as reminders of important appointments in offices and homes. They are stuck on boards, computers, desks, walls, etc. Borrow this idea and include a sticker as part of your invitation. It makes the invitation conspicuous and memorable. Ensure that the sticker provides crucial information like the date and venue of your big day.

An artistic item will remain memorable. People easily discard cards after the wedding. However, an artistic item will remain on their desk or wall and will always remind them of your big day. It could be a canvas painting, an embossed cup, bracelet, flag, etc. A curved piece of wood would also do the trick. Most guests will keep the art for long and will always remember your special day.

Consider your friends who speak a different language. Consider writing the message in different languages. It accommodates all your friends, especially those from different nationalities, and is also stylish. By accommodating their language, you give the invitation a personalized feel. When the messages are printed on a single card, it saves money.

What of an audio or video? Technology has allowed people to make digital invitations. Maybe you have no addresses of most of your friends. It is also time consuming to drop cards from door to door. Consider inviting friends by attaching an audio or video to their social media handles. It gives them an opportunity to replay the invitation over and over. Some may also use it as a ringing tone on their phones.
